About This Course

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

Establish and develop working relationships
Support policies, procedures and practice to safeguard children and ensure their inclusion and well-being
Support programmes for the promotion of children's development
Plus five specialist units

HOW IS THE COURSE TAUGHT?

You will attend college for 2 ½ hours each week for 18 weeks to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding needed in Children's Care, Learning and Development employment sectors.  The college based workshops include opportunities for learning through theory and practice.  You will also attend tutorial sessions with an assessor to identify how to produce the work-based evidence to meet the standards.


HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessment of all units will be through direct observation of your working practice by an assessor/expert witness. You will also produce a portfolio of evidence to meet the national standards, which will be assessed and internally verified.

WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL I ACHIEVE?

NVQ Level 4 in Children's Care Learning and Development

WHEN WILL I ATTEND?

Classes will be held on a Wednesday evening for one academic year between 6pm and 8.30pm

HOW MUCH WILL THE COURSE COST?

Full Fee £1175

These fees are for 1 year if you take longer than 1 year to complete your course you will be required to pay further fees to cover administration and assessment costs

Other Edexcel level 4 NVQ's including Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), Playwork or Management

Entry Requirements

An appropriate job role e.g. managers or lead/senior practitioners, peripatetic advisers and support workers. A relevant level 3 qualification GCSE or equivalent at Grade ’C’ or above in English/Maths
